How to Have a Healthy Mouth This Spring

Posted .

If you want a strong and healthy mouth this spring, then it’s important to clean and care for your teeth and gums regularly. Doing so can help you prevent tooth decay and gum disease and it can even help you reach your smile and oral health goals. So, our dentist, Dr. Mark Berard, would like to give you tips on how to have a healthy mouth this spring. Those tips are:

-Brush twice a day: Brushing can help you remove plaque, bacteria and other harmful substances from the surfaces of your teeth. This can help you prevent cavities, gum disease and other dental problems. As you brush, make sure to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.

-Floss once a day: Flossing can help you eliminate the same harmful substances from between your teeth. Flossing is very important. In fact, flossing might even be more important than brushing. So, grab your waxed dental floss or your favorite flossing tool and floss daily. Be sure to be careful around the gums.

-Attend your dental checkups: If you’re due for a checkup this spring, don’t forget about it! Dental checkups are extremely important, especially because the treatments involved are the only ways to remove hardened plaque from the smile. So, make sure to set a reminder for yourself and attend your checkup this spring.
